How to empty the air from the diesel of the Carter 320 excavator

Use a screwdriver or wrench to unscrew any of the exhaust screws on both sides of the fuel injection pump of the CAT 320D excavator several times, and manually press the hand pump until the diesel is continuously and smoothly discharged without any bubbles making a "squeaking" sound. Then tighten the air release screw and press the hand oil pump rod back to its original position.

If you don't have a suitable screwdriver or wrench to open the air release screw on the fuel injection pump while driving, you can first unscrew the hand oil pump, loosen any pipe joint between the diesel filter and the fuel injection pump, and then repeatedly press the hand oil pump until a smooth flow of bubbles is discharged from the joint. Then, tighten the joint while removing the pressure on the hand oil pump, and then press the hand oil pump back to its original position.

If there is no wrench available to loosen the small joint of the pipeline, the manual oil pump can be repeatedly depressurized until the pressure in the low-pressure oil circuit from the fuel delivery pump to the fuel injection pump is high enough. The fuel will "squeak" from the relief valve and flow into the fuel return pipeline, and the gas in the oil circuit will be discharged from the relief valve.

If it is necessary to eliminate the air in the fuel circuit of the Cat 320 used excavator during the journey, you can first loosen the air release screw on the fuel injection pump or loosen any joint between the diesel filter and the fuel injection pump. Then, drive the mechanical fuel injection pump through the starter, and the leak point will be smoothly sprayed with bubble free fuel. At this time, tighten and loosen the above-mentioned leak point.
