What are the measures to prevent cavitation of CAT 320 excavator
Although the causes of cavitation are multifaceted, as long as necessary measures are taken to actively prevent it, the phenomenon of cavitation can still be avoided. Below are some preventive measures that should be taken to address the causes of cavitation in the Caterpillar 320D excavator.
(1) Strictly control the selection of hydraulic oil
Strictly select hydraulic oil according to the oil standards. Choosing high-quality hydraulic oil can effectively prevent the occurrence of bubbles in the hydraulic system during operation. When selecting the oil, it should be selected according to the lowest temperature in different regions, and the hydraulic oil should be added according to the oil dipstick standard. At the same time, the hydraulic system should be kept clean (when filling the hydraulic oil, it should prevent moisture and other impurities from being brought in). The oil quality, oil level and oil color of the hydraulic oil should be checked frequently. If water bubbles, foam are found in the hydraulic oil, or the oil turns milky white, the source of air in the oil should be carefully found and eliminated in time.
(2) Prevent excessive oil temperature and reduce hydraulic shock
Reasonable design of the cooling system and prevention of excessive oil temperature are key to maintaining normal hydraulic oil temperature. If any abnormalities occur, the cause should be identified and promptly resolved. When operating hydraulic control levers and distribution valves, strive for smoothness, avoid being too fast or too aggressive, and avoid frequently increasing the engine throttle to minimize the impact of hydraulic oil on hydraulic components. At the same time, the cooling system should be maintained in a timely manner to keep the temperature within an appropriate range, in order to reduce the energy released when bubbles burst. While not affecting the normal circulation of the coolant, a certain amount of anti-corrosion additives can be added appropriately to suppress corrosion.
(3) Maintain normal clearance between the joint surfaces of various hydraulic components
When manufacturing or repairing the main components of hydraulic cylinders (such as cylinder bodies, piston rods, etc.), assembly should be carried out according to the lower tolerance limit of assembly dimensions. Practice has shown that this can effectively reduce the occurrence of cavitation. If hydraulic components have already experienced cavitation, only metallographic sandpaper polishing technology can be used to remove the pitting and surface carbon deposits caused by cavitation, and general fine sandpaper cannot be used for polishing treatment.
(4) Pay attention to exhaust during maintenance
After maintenance, the hydraulic cylinder should be operated smoothly for a certain period of time to ensure that the hydraulic oil in the hydraulic system is fully circulated; If necessary, the hydraulic cylinder inlet pipe (or return pipe) can be disassembled to allow hydraulic oil to overflow, in order to achieve the effect of exhausting a single hydraulic cylinder.
