How to maintain a used excavator to extend its service life
Daily maintenance
Appearance cleaning: After work every day, use a high-pressure water gun or special cleaning equipment to remove dirt, dust, oil and other impurities on the surface of the used excavator. Pay special attention to cleaning the chassis, tracks and working devices to prevent impurities from accumulating and corroding the machine.
Check fuel and lubricating oil: Before starting the machine every day, check whether the fuel tank is full, whether the fuel quality is good, and whether there are impurities and moisture. At the same time, check the oil level and oil quality of lubricating oils such as engine oil, hydraulic oil, gear oil, etc., to ensure that the oil level is within the normal range, the oil quality is clear, no odor, and no impurities. If the oil quality is found to be deteriorating or the oil level is too low, it should be replaced or added in time.
Check the coolant: Check the level and concentration of the engine coolant to ensure that the coolant level is within the normal range and the coolant has good antifreeze and anti-boiling properties. If the coolant is found to be insufficient or deteriorated, it should be added or replaced in time.
Regular maintenance
Air filter maintenance: Clean the outer filter element of the air filter every 50-100 working hours, and use compressed air to blow the dust on the filter element from the inside to the outside. Replace the inner filter element of the air filter every 500-1000 working hours to ensure smooth engine air intake and prevent dust from entering the engine cylinder, which will aggravate the wear of components such as the piston and cylinder.
Oil filter replacement: Replace the oil filter regularly according to the requirements of the excavator manual. Generally, replace the oil filter every 200-500 working hours to ensure the cleanliness of the oil and extend the service life of the engine.
Hydraulic system maintenance: Replace the hydraulic oil and hydraulic oil filter every 1000-2000 hours. At the same time, check whether there is leakage in the pipelines, joints and seals of the hydraulic system. If there is leakage, it should be repaired or replaced in time. Clean the hydraulic oil tank regularly to prevent impurities and moisture from entering the hydraulic system and affecting the normal operation of the hydraulic system.
Track maintenance: Check the track tension regularly and keep the track tension within the appropriate range by adjusting the oil volume in the track tensioning cylinder. Check the wear of the track shoes and track pins every 100-200 working hours. If the wear is severe, replace them in time to prevent the track from derailing or breaking.
Special maintenance
Seasonal maintenance: When the seasons change, the excavator should be maintained during the season change. For example, before the winter comes, replace the fuel, lubricating oil and coolant suitable for low temperature environment, install the cold cover or heating device to ensure that the excavator can start and work normally in low temperature environment. In summer, strengthen the inspection and maintenance of the cooling system, clean the dust and debris on the surface of the radiator, and ensure that the engine and hydraulic system have good heat dissipation.
Long-term parking maintenance: If the excavator needs to be parked for a long time, it should be fully maintained and protected. First, thoroughly clean the dirt and impurities on the surface of the excavator, and then conduct a comprehensive inspection and maintenance of the engine, hydraulic system, fuel system, etc., and replace lubricating oil, fuel filter, etc. Park the excavator in a dry and well-ventilated place, and cover it with canvas or special covers to prevent dust, rain and direct sunlight. Start the engine and run it for a period of time at regular intervals to prevent rust and aging of machine parts.
